#04 The story of the Caged Bird - Part 01
The origin story that determines whether Elon Musk is Lex Luthor or Iron Man.
Have you ever heard of any non-governmental entity in a virtual world controlling real life's narrative and flow of events? wait. I remember one such company that ruled over much of the known world on behalf of the throne of the British Empire. The British East India Company, which boasts of the world’s largest private military, essentially did that. But in the modern world, information blitzkrieg’s faster than Hitler’s World War 2 invasion (ironically - did that word originate from there?) and we all wonder whether this could be true, let me unwind why I might make such tall comparisons.
Around the first week of April, everybody around the virtual world on almost all social media talks about one person that the modern world has quite not wrapped their head around.
Some journalists call him a Man-Child. Some use much harsher words. Some can’t understand this person. Who is he? Is he a person or an alien? He doesn’t behave like your typical shabby startup CEO in shorts and tee who does everything that can help their startup or scams everyone like how Sam-Bankrupt-Fraud did. Nor, does he behave like your Wall Street-related suited-up CEO with a pristine tie, muscular, benches more than 500 lbs, square jaw and fights crime during the dark. Oh my. Sorry, I got carried away with my admiration for Batman, the masked vigilante. But, you get the idea, right?
This guy - tweets memes and shitposts which can give tough competition to the teen dank-meme community. Doesn’t seem to care about the well-being of his companies when he tweets considering the fact that his reach and superman stardom can move markets. But undoubtedly a hard worker, a true technologist, sleeps lesser than top-performing CEOs and ranks on the highest. Take a look at his companies. Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, The Boring Company, and now Twitter.
Undoubtedly all of them are successful companies right now if we can ignore the collective tech stock bloodbath of the bear market - while we dissect what’s happening with Twitter.
April 04, 2022 - Twitter publishes a note - Elon Musk has bought a 9.2% share of Twitter.
April 05, 2022 - Twitter offers Elon a board seat
April 10, 2022 - Elon refuses Board Seat. TaDa
April 14, 2022 - ElonMusk offers to buy Twitter, the whole company for $43B
(some high-profile drama happens on Twitter during this time)April 25, 2022 - Twitter accepts a $44B acquisition at $54.20/share - including $1B termination fee from both sides.
May 13, 2022 - Elon musk tweeted that the deal is on hold.
July 08, 2022 - Musk kills the deal
July 12, 2022 - Twitter sues Musk to force Elon to buy the company.
October 27, 2022 - Elon goes through the deal before the courts could force the acquisition.
It should be noted that - during all these times, there was multiple back-and-forth drama on Twitter including the infamous poop emoji which Elon pointed to, in a reply to the then-now-fired CEO of Twitter ‘Parag waste of an Agrawal’.
It was particularly surprising for me that the comms. of Twitter was sent home, the department liquidated, and Elon became the sole communications of Twitter in Twitter itself while dubbing Twitter as the defacto Public Square.
Mind you, there was/is/will be absolutely zero doubt about the Paypal Mafia member Elon Musk’s capability as to what he might achieve with Twitter. I have thou far remained his neutral critic, talking about the bad build quality of Tesla while remaining appreciative of its success and ability to do what others can dream to do and my concern over its inflated stock price, long waiting times due to production issues, the Mar’s dream, and all. However, my skepticism about Tesla’s stock price was resolved when I saw the FSD update, it’s the release of bots, and other futuristic ideas which convinced me that Tesla is an Electric-Tech AI company and that the car is just one of its use cases.
But I do not like the way how Musk presents himself given his vast ability to influence the younger generation and startup entrepreneurs who might take this from him, the same way they tried to emulate the rude outspoken behavior (based on what’s known in media) of Steve Jobs and ended up turning up as assholes.
I have my own disdain for many of the mainstream media houses of America for not being fully non-partisan as they claim to be and they are clearly known to lean left or blue, for that matter - when they should be heavily and unbiasedly non-partisan. So, when they attacked Musk, I did not like that at all.
When Twitter Files 1 and 2 came out, attracting so much noise, I had this to say in my Instagram stories.
If you are a person who isn’t corrupted by toxic social media, here’s a nicely done summary by Mic Solana, the billionaire Media Mogul of
without whom we'd have to go through the pain of an amateur thread writer. You can read Twitter’s Second File here:
1. Elon Musk knows how to drive traffic to the site. people who stopped using Twitter after many of them were de-platformed (from the right) and shifted to other sites such as parler, gab, and trump's platform are coming back to Twitter to take part in the drama like how the prodigal son return’s to his father’s house. Except for this time, the Father’s house is a thread-writing whore house of idiots and geniuses all wallowing in the same pit of pity and attention-seeking disease, fighting with anon random keyboard warriors on Twitter over subjects their brittle egos can’t handle. Their high IQs gifted them everything other than tolerance and the ability to accept their ego to be bruised every now and then.
The Left threatened to vacate and go to Mastodon which is another bigotry cesspool but saw how Mastodon was a clusterfuck with server admins playing god and they returned.
You don’t trust me, I know.
Just see this small video - to understand how Mastodon is worse than 8kun.
Plus, he forced them to be here because they need to defend what the right is saying and spreading because until now - Twitter is still the public square for most government officials.
What to do? Most government officials and even brands take action when tweeting over Twitter instead of making their actual support channel function. I mean, why should they do that, right? Working on something only when it affects your reputation seems to be the growing new generation’s mantra.
2. Twitter file #1 was basically Twitter burying the hunter Biden files which everyone knows they did and Jack apologized for it.
Twitter file #2 is basically Twitter shadowbanning users.
3. Everyone and the media started calling them "nothing burgers" It's factually true. because we all know that they did that. it was even buried in the ToS.
but the fact that we are all forgetting is,
- No one knew who did this and how they did that until now. - no one saw circumstantial evidence on how it was done until now.
- Vijaya Gadde and Jack both actually reiterated multiple times that they don’t shadowban (while their ToS shows that they do throttle reach which even Elon said recently)
- While both of them said that they don't shadowban, they also said they don't do it politically biased.
But evidence now shows, they always censored only one political group and they had multiple levels of shadowban proving it was a lie.
Prolific pseudo-intellectual liar Charlie Warzel wrote another thread - where he describes how shadow-banning already existed. Until - a few digging told us the opposite is true.
Here. Charlie argues that - shadowbanning never existed in the 2018 article that he authored. I thought he should be the only one who wrote something like this. Come on! Give the man a break. This journalist is a man who is worthy of multiple Pulitzers. A man of great journalistic integrity and an entrepreneur who has multiple Billion Dollar companies and has employed tens of thousands of people. Except, he cannot do all of this, even in his dreams!
Then, there was another journalist of impeccable public record. A man (I don’t know. How is thy highness addressing themselves nowadays? I get lost in the everchanging pronouns that they create out of thin air) of great virtue, who is another legendary thread writer - writing a gaslighting thread on how Shadow banning already existed.
However, this same piece of impudent rat - claimed before that it was a false story!
The worst part is, they are all fighting over the technicality of the word ‘shadowbanning’ since they have a different terms for the same. These journalists could be $1000/hr charging lawyers with this legal expertise.
4. When libsoftiktok's home address was doxxed and put online leading to people picketing and threatening death, it was seen that they didn't delete it while knowing personally that it was harmful.
Note: complaints concerning libsoftiktok were handled personally by Vijaya Gadde, Yoel Roth, and other high-profile people and not by regular support staff. They severely shadowbanned her although acknowledged in insider emails that she didn't break any Terms of Service, thus proving the nature of political bias. Further screengrab suggests that they had access to Twitter DMs and IP addresses leading to speculation that Twitter insiders higher up who had access to the panel gave away her real location.
5. Of course it's not something that's too big. and they are releasing the Twitter files bit by bit adding sauce to them to create the maximum drama possible. If they dump all the files, they wouldn't be able to gather so much interest for a long time. perfect game. As I said before, Elon is playing the long game. His next range of Semis and trucks is for the conservative base of America.
Good call for him when the whole country is divided into two polar opposites - the left and the right. you can't appease both. it's a high risk when you become big. you are forced to side with one.
But it’s going to become far more dangerous when Elon Musk does not quickly detach himself from his new-found friends of the alt-right. The ability to avoid the bites of both extremes while getting the love of both Moderates is a task that very few successful Americans have succeeded in moderately establishing.
6. Internet has led us to believe that whatever happens in America should happen everywhere.
Remember, they only have two major choices. be blue or red. Do not make the same political choices here. our country isn't designed for it but dangerously for the past 10 years we are going that route and it's unhealthy.
Most Americans are moderates in their political views. But the moderate Dems and republicans are forced to back stupid choices that their candidates do because they are afraid otherwise it might turn red or blue (like how it happened in Arizona - context: the internal fight between Trump republicans and McCain republicans)
In TN, you can see that - even though people voted for DMK, they call out the stupid things they are doing and protest against it. if they don't like them, they will uproot them and put someone else in the same left ideology. (has been ADMK for a long time. don't know who might replace them after they crumble)
7. This Twitter file #2 scoop is enough for republicans in both houses to call back and even press charges against Vijaya Gadde, the old Indian CEO Parag, and other people since they testified under oath. Cleverly Elon shields jack (even though he also testified wrongly) by saying that Vijaya Gadde took these decisions without his knowledge. since it's a private company now, whatever Elon gives, goes.
the tip of the matter is - how he exposes FBI agents working inside twitter vetting #1. that guy was fired. but it’s a no-brainer. you build a big enough tech company, government agents will join.
Twitter in India is forced to employ multiple government agents at the top level. (it's not an industry secret. it's rather the norm - more in successive parts)
8. The bear market allows Elon to do as he wishes. He can push the company to profitability without any worries and he will do what he wants without worrying about market conditions since all tech stocks are down anyways.
In 3-4 years, I expect that he will bring Twitter to an IPO again, min at a $100 B valuation making it public. that's the only way he will cash out his investment and of course, we all forgot about one thing.
He's discovering the true use of Twitter with the rise in Al now. open Al's chatGPT used twitter for training and Elon discovered it recently and they are in negotiations on revenue sharing.
With Elon's talks already underway for Tesla's FSD to use Twitter, it's the cheapest way to train large language models potentially increase the revenue stream, increase the value of Tesla and his other companies, benefit shareholders in all of his companies through Twitter and take Twitter public again for maximum profit.
Twitter will become a massive case study on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) on how to steer an almost bankrupt public company to profitability and make it public again using market conditions and people's stupid political emotions.
Love or hate Elon, it's a genius move or rather diabolical. He cashes out because this actually helps him to increase the value of Tesla FSD which is already making bots for its cars whose driving is miles away from nearest competitors. Whether twitter wins or loses, Elon wins either way when the tech bear market ends and Neuralink becomes public.
By the time, I finished this - more drama in twitter unfolded in twitter with the successive release of more files for which I won’t fail as the Godfather - to give my unsolicited opinion again on the same.
With too much power unchecked as a private company, will this turn Elon Musk into a Lex Luthor, or will he live up to the hyped real-life Iron Man that the media promised to the world? Stay tuned to my next part-02 on the Caged Bird stories as I discuss and rant more, possibly better too.
